Why don’t some people believe in God?

Here's the answer:

God lets people make their own choices about believing in Him.

The Bible teaches us that God created everything. In Genesis 1:1 it says, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." God has shown He exists through creation, through the way He works in people’s hearts, and through His Word, the Bible. But many people still wonder if He’s real, make fun of Him, and even say He doesn’t exist.

So why don’t some people believe God exists?

Some people don’t believe in God because that’s how they were brought up. Their families never talked about God or even went to church. Some people grow up in countries it’s illegal to believe in God, go to church, and to own a Bible, so they’re forced to not believe in God.

Another reason some people choose to not believe in God is because they feel guilty about the wrong things they do (like lying, disobeying their parents, cheating, fighting with others, and more). In order to get rid of their guilt, they just say that God is not real and that they don’t believe in Him.

One more reason people don’t believe in God is because bad things happen to them, like losing loved ones, abusive family relationships, sickness, or disappointments in their lives. These people don’t understand that God still loves them and takes care of His creation even in the bad times, so they decide God must not be real.

God doesn’t force anyone to believe in Him, but He does tell us what He thinks of those who don’t believe in Him. In Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53:1 it says, "Foolish people say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’ They do all kinds of horrible and evil things. No one does anything good." The good news is, though, that even when people don’t believe in Him, God loves them anyway and wants them to come to know Him and live with Him forever. To read more about the path to heaven, click here.
