What does the Bible say about giving up?
Here's the answer:
The Bible encourages us to never give up (Galatians 6:9).
There are times when we feel like giving up. You may feel this way when we are learning a sport, studying for a test, or trying to make new friends. When times are hard, it can be difficult not to give up. We need to remember what the Bible says. The Bible encourages us to never give up.
A major reason we give up is because of discouragement. We set our hopes high, and when we don't achieve our goal, we feel disappointed. God doesn't want us to give up when times get hard. The cure for discouragement is to have others build us up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Another reason we give up is because of pride. Pride is when we want what is best for ourselves without caring about other people. The Bible warns that pride always comes before the fall (Proverbs 16:18).
When we are tired, we may feel like giving up. Whenever you are too tired to carry on, go to the Lord in prayer and ask for His help. He is always your friend and He will uphold you.
Bible Truth
"Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9).
"And that’s not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope. And hope will never bring us shame. That’s because God’s love has been poured into our hearts. This happened through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us" (Romans 5:3-5).
"So encourage one another with the hope you have. Build each other up. In fact, that’s what you are doing" (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
