What is God's plan to forgive us?
Here's the answer:
God's plan is to forgive sinners by bringing them to faith in Jesus.
Every one of us has a big problem. You see, God commands us to love Him the most, obey our parents, tell the truth, and many other commands in the Bible. But each one of us has disobeyed God at one point or another. The punishment for our sin is death. We can't go to heaven with our sins, even if we try to be good.
But God made a plan to forgive believing sinners! God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth. Jesus died on the cross to pay the punishment for sin. Then Jesus came back to life, showing He won the victory over sin and death!
If God leads us to turn from sin and trust in the Lord Jesus, God forgives our sins once and for all. He will make us new from the inside out so we can trust and obey Him. To learn about the path to forgiveness and heaven, click here.
Bible Truth
"We have been set free because of what Christ has done. Through his blood our sins have been forgiven. We have been set free because God's grace is so rich" (Ephesians 1:7).
"God has saved us. He has chosen us to live a holy life. It wasn't because of anything we have done. It was because of his own purpose and grace. Through Christ Jesus, God gave us that grace even before time began" (2 Timothy 1:9).
"The blood of Christ set you free from an empty way of life. That way of life was handed down to you by your own people long ago. You know that you were not bought with things that can pass away, like silver or gold. Instead, you were bought by the priceless blood of Christ. He is a perfect lamb. He doesn't have any flaws at all. He was chosen before God created the world. But he came into the world in these last days for you. Because of what Christ has done, you believe in God. It was God who raised him from the dead. And it was God who gave him glory. So your faith and hope are in God" (1 Peter 1:18–21).
