Yes! God has friends! Are you one of them?
In the book of Genesis, Abraham was a faithful, obedient follower of God. In Isaiah 41:8, God called him, “My friend.”
Jesus had friends too. Lazarus, Mary and Martha, were among Jesus’ close friends. You can read an exciting story about Lazarus and Jesus in John 11.
Would you like to be Jesus’ friend? You can learn about Him and discover how He wants you to live by reading about Him in the Bible. In order to be friends with someone, we take time to learn about the person and spend time with him. That’s how it is with Jesus. He wants to be our Savior and friend.
Jesus said, “You are my friends if you do what I command.” He showed how much He loved His disciples by always doing what was right and best for them. He later proved that He was the promised Savior of the world by dying on the cross for our sins, and then rising from the dead three days later. Now He wants us to “…love one another, just as I have loved you” (John 13:34).
Bible Truth
“…‘Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham because he believed. So his faith made him right with God.’ And that’s not all. God called Abraham his friend” (James 2:23).
“You are my friends if you do what I command” (John 15:14).
