Can I be sinless?
Here's the answer:
No, you cannot be sinless. God’s Word says that all have sinned.
Since the fall of mankind, there has been sin in the world. We are all born into sin and we all freely sin (Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:23). There is no escaping sin in our present, earthly life. Even though we have believed in Jesus and accepted Him as our Savior, it does not mean we stop sinning. As nice as this would be, it is not possible.
The only person who has ever been sinless is Jesus. Jesus entered the world through the virgin birth, grew up, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross for our sins. Only Jesus could die for our sins because He never sinned (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus is the One who gives us forgiveness and through believing in Him, we can have a new life.
At the end of our lives, when we are called home to Heaven, we will no longer sin. We will be transformed into our glorified bodies and we will never sin again (1 Corinthians 15:42-57). Sin will be eradicated one day in the future. We can look forward to this day with hope, but during our earthly lives, we will never be sinless.
Bible Truth
"It is true that there isn’t anyone on earth who does only what is right and never sins" (Ecclesiastes 7:20)
"Christ didn’t have any sin. But God made him become sin for us. So we can be made right with God because of what Christ has done for us" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
"Suppose we claim we are without sin. Then we are fooling ourselves. The truth is not in us" (1 John 1:8).
