It’s important to accept the way God made us.
God created each person to be special and unlike anyone else. This means we all have different personalities, body types, and hair color. He made some of us tall and some short. Some of us have long noses, and some have short noses. We could have a round face or an oval face.
Sometimes we don’t like something about the way we look. We might feel our eyes are too small or our hair is too curly. We might want to be tall instead of short. We might even compare ourselves to someone else and wish we looked like him or her.
This can be a hard thing to deal with, because the world tries to tell us we should look a certain way. But can you imagine what it would be like if everyone looked the same? It would be so boring! We wouldn’t be able to tell anyone apart. The way we look makes us special and unique. You can be proud of the way God made you. Even scars that you get during your life from illnesses, burns, or cuts become a part of who you are.
What’s really important is what’s on the inside. God cares most about what kind of person you are, not how you look (1 Samuel 16:7). If you follow Jesus and obey God’s Word, the Bible, then you’ll start to be beautiful on the inside. No matter how you look, people will be attracted to you if you’re beautiful on the inside and treat others kindly.
Be proud of the way God made you! Try not to focus on how you look, but instead focus on who you are on the inside. If you don’t like something about the way you look, talk to God about it and ask Him to help you change the way you think.
Bible Truth
“How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well” (Psalm 139:14).
“Your beauty comes from inside you. It is the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. Beauty like that doesn’t fade away. God places great value on it” (1 Peter 1:4).
“Don’t live any longer the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2).
