God takes care of all His children, and will act as a Father to those who don’t have an earthly father.
Every kid has a dad, but not all dads are in their kids’ lives. A dad may have passed away. Sometimes the father leaves and is not coming back for a long time—and sometimes he’s not ever coming back. So how can God be a father to the fatherless?
• God shows us amazing love. We are His creation, and He loves each and every one of us. 1 John 3:1 says, "How great is the love the Father has given us so freely!"
• God wants us to be part of His family. Anyone who believes that God’s Son, Jesus, died to take the punishment for his or her sin will be in the family of God. That person is truly God’s child! Galatians 3:26 days, "You are all children of God by believing in Christ Jesus."
• God provides for us. God wants to give us what we need. 1 Timothy 6:17a says, "...He richly provides us with everything to enjoy."
• God cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Turn all your worries over to him. He cares about you."
• God listens to us when we pray. We can talk to God just like we talk to a dad or best friend. Psalm 65:2 says, "All people will come to you, because you hear and answer prayer."
The story of an orphan named Esther is in the Old Testament in the book of Esther. Esther’s mom and dad were killed in a war, so Esther had to go live in a foreign country with her cousin. But God had big plans for Esther. God used her to save the whole Jewish nation. God loves us and has plans for all of us whether dad is there or not.
