What does it mean to find God? Is He lost?
Here's the answer:
God isn’t lost. People are!
A long time ago in the garden of Eden, the first people, Adam and Eve, had a perfect relationship with God. They could talk to Him anytime, and sometimes God would come walk with them in the garden. But one day, Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Their sin ruined the close relationship they had with God—they wouldn’t ever again be as close to God as they used to be. They were lost and separated from God.
Because we’re all part of Adam and Eve’s family, we all sin. Because of that, we’re all lost. God knew that we need help to find Him again. The payment for sin is a forever death, so God sent His perfect Son, Jesus, to Earth to take the punishment for us. He died on a cross and rose again so we can be forgiven.
When we search for God, the Bible says we will find Him. And when choose to follow Jesus and believe in Him, we’ll be part of His family. We were lost in our sins, and now we’re found!
