What does the Bible say about being a good student?

Here's the answer:

God wants us to be good students because it honors Him. We can do our best to listen and be attentive.

Just as Jesus grew up in knowledge and wisdom, so do we (Luke 2:52). The only way we can do this is by going to school and being a good student. In everything we do, we need to try our best. We bring glory to God when we try our best. As we are working on our schoolwork, we need to work as if we were working for the Lord (Colossians 3:23).

Jesus tells us that a student is not above their teacher (Matthew 10:24). This means that students need to listen to their teachers and try to apply what they have learned. Whenever your teacher is giving a lesson, make sure you are paying attention. Don’t be distracted or try to talk with friends. Stay fully attentive and do your best in class.

By having good self-discipline, you will be able to be a good student. Self-discipline will help you to stay focused, do your homework when you don’t feel like it, and study for tests even when you would rather be doing something else. If self-discipline is hard for you, ask God for help. He will be able to help you develop self-discipline in order to be a good student.
