How many angels are in heaven?
Here's the answer:
The Bible doesn’t give us an exact number, but we know there are a lot!
We know there are a lot of angels in heaven, but we don’t know an exact number. One account of angels we read about in the Bible is when Jesus was born. There were shepherds living in the fields nearby. It was night and they were taking care of their sheep. A large group of angels appeared from heaven and said, "May glory be given to God in the highest heaven! And may peace be given to those he is pleased with on earth!" (Luke 2:14).
Revelation 5:11 also gives us a hint at how many angels there are. It says, "Then I looked and heard the voice of millions and millions of angels. They surrounded the throne. They surrounded the living creatures and the elders."
What do all these angels do? Angels spend their time doing errands for God and worshipping Him. Some of them have special jobs, like telling people what God has said, while others praise God always. Angels could be in the room with you right now, but you can't see or talk with them.
Bible Truth
"Praise the LORD, you angels of his. Praise him, you mighty ones who carry out his orders and obey his word. Praise the LORD, all you angels in heaven. Praise him, all you who serve him and do what he wants. Let everything the LORD has made praise him everywhere in his kingdom. I will praise the LORD" (Psalm 103:20-22).
"God’s first and only Son is over all things. When God brings him into the world, he says, ‘Let all God’s angels worship him.’ Here is something else God says about the angels. 'God makes his angels to be like spirits. He makes those who serve him to be like flashes of lightning'" (Hebrews 1:6-7).
