Is God imaginary?
Here's the answer:
God is not imaginary. He’s real!
Some people might try to tell us that God is imaginary. But there are many things that tell us that God is real. Believing that God is real does take some faith (which is believing in something we can’t see), but that faith comes from the things we do see.
First, there’s the world around us. It doesn’t make much sense to believe that the universe came from nothing at all, does it? Something can’t come from nothing. And thinking that everything came to be because of a big explosion doesn’t work either. There are way too many details in creation to think that it all happened by chance. So it makes much more sense to believe that a very smart and powerful Creator—God—made everything around us.
Another way we can prove God isn’t imaginary is by looking at right and wrong. Everyone on earth believes that there are good choices and bad choices, even if they aren’t Christians. God is right and perfect, and He has told us what things are wrong, or sin.
We can also know God isn’t imaginary because of our relationship with Him. God sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins and to show us who God is. If we believe in Him and choose to follow Him, we’re a part of God’s family. God speaks to our hearts, shows us right from wrong, and helps us understand His Word, the Bible.
We believe in a God who is very, very real!
Bible Truth
"We also know that the Son of God has come. He has given us understanding. So we can know the God who is true. And we belong to the true God by belonging to his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life" (1 John 5:20).
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
