Is God a Person?
Here's the answer:
God is spirit. Since God has a will, mind, and emotions, He is also a person.
When you look in a mirror who do you see? You see yourself, a person! You have the ability to think. You can make decisions. You can love. You have personality.
Is there someone who is a person who is greater than you—someone who can think, act, and love like you? Yes, your Creator is greater than you! The Bible says that this person is God and He made you in His image (Genesis 1:27). That means that God made you with a spirit like His so you can have fellowship with Him. This helps you think His thoughts, obey Him, and love Him.
So, if God is a person, does He have a body? No, you can’t walk up to God and poke Him. He is spirit and has a will, mind, and emotions. He is also a person.
Since God is a person, it means He can love. He loves you! Adam and Eve sinned by not obeying their Creator. They lost their fellowship with Him. God sent Jesus, so that each person who believes in Him can have a way back to God.
Is Jesus your personal Savior? If not, admit to Him that you have sinned, and ask Him to be your Savior. Then you will know God.
