What does it mean to be ungodly?

Here's the answer:

To be ungodly is to live a life of sin, rather than a life that honors God.

A person who lives an ungodly life has a life full of hate, anger, bitterness, and other sinful behaviors. God does not want us to be ungodly. Those who live ungodly lives and refuse to accept Jesus as their Savior will face punishment in the future (2 Peter 3:7).

God wants us to live a godly and holy life, using the Bible as our guide. Sometimes ungodly things are seen as “cool,” such as cheating, making fun of someone, or saying bad words, but God doesn’t want us to do those things. We can choose to live a godly life even if others don’t see it as “cool.” Living a godly lifestyle is honoring to God.

Galatians 5:22-23 explains some characteristics of a godly life: "the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself."

In our Christian walk, we need to do our best to live a godly lifestyle. At times, it will be difficult, but God can help us if we ask for His help. Since God has extended His love to us in such a great way, we can demonstrate our love back to Him by living a godly life, using the Bible as our guide.

Bible Truth

"God’s grace has now appeared. By his grace, God offers to save all people. His grace teaches us to say no to godless ways and sinful desires. We must control ourselves. We must do what is right. We must lead godly lives in today’s world" (Titus 2:11-12).

"God shows his anger from heaven. It is against all the godless and evil things people do. They are so evil that they say no to the truth" (Romans 1:18).

"So everything will be destroyed in this way. And what kind of people should you be? You should lead holy and godly lives" (2 Peter 3:11).
