Will I have my same name in heaven?

Here's the answer:

You will probably have the same name in heaven.

God knows our name (Exodus 33:17; Isaiah 43:1). In fact, every Christian has his or her name written in the book of life: "Anyone whose name was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15).

We will have a new body in heaven, but we will probably have the same name. God loves us and wants us to live with Him forever. Some people think Revelation 2:17 means we will have a new name in heaven, but this verse is not about what will happen to us in heaven. God knows us and is looking forward to being with all of His people in heaven forever.

"Here is what I will do for anyone who has victory over sin. I will dress that person in white like those worthy people. I will never erase their names from the book of life. I will speak of them by name to my Father and his angels" (Revelation 3:5).
