Can people in heaven look down and see us?

Here's the answer:

The Bible does not tell us directly whether people in heaven look down on us or not.

The idea that people in heaven can look down and see us is very popular in society. While this idea is popular, it is not biblical. While the Bible never tells us that our loved ones can’t look down on us, it never tells us that they can either. Most likely, our loved ones in heaven are busy worshipping God and enjoying heaven.

When a loved one dies, it is sad. It can bring comfort to us if we think our loved ones are looking down on us. Even though the Bible never says our loved ones can look down on us, God is always looking down on us. The Lord is always protecting us and watching over us (Proverbs 15:3).

We need to keep our eyes on Jesus at all times. We do not need to try to seek out the approval of our loved ones in heaven. We should not do good things in the hopes that our loved ones will be looking down on us and will be proud of our actions. Instead, we should do good things to bring glory to God. God is always watching us.

Bible Truth

"Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2).

"You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know what I’m thinking even though you are far away. You know when I go out to work and when I come back home. You know exactly how I live" (Psalm 139:2-3).

"The Lord looks out over the whole earth. He gives strength to those who commit their lives completely to him..." (2 Chronicles 16:9).
