My mom says I overthink. How can I stop?

Here's the answer:

God can help you with overthinking. Go to Him in prayer.

Overthinking is very common, so understand that you are not alone in this struggle. Your mom is trying to help you when she tells you are overthinking things. The best way to stop overthinking is to pray to God and share your feelings with Him. Tell Him all of your worries, fears, and concerns.

Overthinking is often connected to being worried, fearful, or concerned. God doesn’t want you to have excessive worry and fears. Talk with God about these fears and also make sure you are reading your Bible. By reading the Bible, you can hear what God wants to tell you. Reading the Bible can also help you calm down and better understand your thoughts.

You can stop overthinking by including Scripture into your thoughts and prayers. Whenever you feel yourself overthinking, start rehearsing a Bible verse. In the same way, if you start overthinking while you are praying, pray a Bible verse out loud. By incorporating Bible verses in your prayer time and in your everyday thoughts, you will start focusing on God more than you do on your worries, fears, and stressors.
