Why is it important to spend time with God?
Here's the answer:
So we can get to know Him better!
This question points to the very reason God made us and then saved us. He wants to have a friendship with us. In the Bible, God called Abraham His friend (James 2:23). Jesus also calls us His friends! Here's what He says in John 15:15: "I do not call you servants anymore. Servants do not know their master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends. I have told you everything I learned from my Father."
When two people become friends they want to talk to each other, spend time together, share secrets together, and help each other when one is hurt. That’s exactly what God wants to do with us, and those things can happen in the time we spend with Him in prayer and reading His Word.
Why is it important to spend time with God? So we can grow in our love for Him, and know His love for us.
