What happens when we sin?
Here's the answer:
Sin is serious and must be punished. Jesus came to help us find forgiveness.
When we sin, it is a sin against God. If we hurt another person, it is a sin against them too. If God didn’t punish sin, that would be unfair. Sin is very serious.
It is good when we are sorry for our sin, but that doesn’t make it go away. Only God can forgive our sin. Sometimes even when we’re sorry for what we did, we still have to face the punishment or the consequences of our choice. When we disobey our parents, our parents often punish us. This helps us learn to be obedient to them and to God. It is similar with God. He will forgive us, but sometimes we still face the consequences of our sin.
Everyone in the world has sinned and disobeyed God. We deserve to be punished. Thankfully, God sent Jesus to die for our sin and make a way for us to find forgiveness.
Bible Truth
"Blessed is the person whose lawless acts are forgiven. Their sins have been taken away" (Psalm 32:1).
"Suppose you keep the whole law but trip over just one part of it. Then you are guilty of breaking all of it" (James 2:10).
