What is Christian apologetics?
Here's the answer:
Christian apologetics is the science of standing up for the Christian faith to those who don’t believe.
Christian apologetics stand up against the lies of the world. There are a lot of people who believe God doesn’t exist, Jesus isn’t God, and the Bible isn’t true. Christian apologetics’ mission is to break down the critics' arguments by presenting the truth of the Bible.
Every Christian needs to be ready to defend the Christian faith (1 Peter 3:15). We can stand up for the faith by knowing the Bible, living out our faith, and telling others about Jesus. We need to be strong in the way we defend the Bible. But, we are still to be kind and gentle. We can never be rude or try to force someone to accept the faith.
There are two types of Christian apologetics. Both can be used; neither one is better than the other. Classical Christian apologetics uses the tactic of sharing evidence to prove Christianity is true. Presuppositional apologetics uses the tactic of talking about the preconceived ideas behind the anti-Christian mind-frame to prove the faith. No matter what tactic you use, you should do it with the intention of sharing the truth of Christ and the Bible.
Bible Truth
"But make sure that in your hearts you honor Christ as Lord. Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have. Be ready to give the reason for it. But do it gently and with respect" (1 Peter 3:15).
