What is the church?
Here's the answer:
The church isn’t a building. It’s the people.
Your family might attend church on Sunday, but what is it exactly? It might surprise you that the church isn’t a building, it is the people. Even if you took away the building, you would still have the church.
Jesus called His followers His "church." Everyone who truly believes in Him and His message are the church. In fact, the church is very big. It isn’t just the people who meet with you on Sundays. The church is all believers all around the world—past, present, and future. That’s a lot of people!
Someday, the entire church will be together in heaven (Revelation 7:9-10).
Bible Truth
"...On this rock I will build my church. The gates of hell will not be strong enough to destroy it" (Matthew 16:18).
"We are sending this letter to you, the members of God’s church in Corinth. You have been made holy because you belong to Christ Jesus. God has chosen you to be his holy people. He has done the same for all people everywhere who pray to our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is their Lord and ours" (1 Corinthians 1:2).
