Where did sin come from?
Here's the answer:
Sin came from our own free will.
God did not create sin. The Bible tells us God created everything good (1 Timothy 4:4). God did create mankind with free will, which means we can choose to do the right thing or the wrong thing. The fall of man happened because mankind chose to do the wrong thing—to sin against God.
Sin existed before Adam and Eve sinned because Satan and his demons sinned before the fall (Ezekiel 28:17). Satan and his demons chose to disobey God. God created all of His creations with the ability to choose to do the right thing or we can choose to disobey God.
Every person is born with a sin nature, but when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we can be forgiven of our sins and given eternal life (John 3:16). Even though God did not create sin, He can cover our sin by Christ’s blood on the cross. Praise be to God for saving us from our sins!
