Why did God create people?
Here's the answer:
God made people to praise and enjoy Him.
God wasn't lonely before He created us—He didn't need us. But He wanted to share His creation with someone who could praise Him for it! He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us.
God created the first people, Adam and Eve, perfect and without sin. But after Adam and Eve disobeyed God (Genesis 3), we all have been sinners. We each have done wrong things, like lying, being mean, and disobeying our parents. God created us to know and love Him, but sin separates us from the holy, perfect God. We can only get to God and His home in heaven by God's Son, Jesus. Find out how Jesus can save you from sin, so you can know and love God: click here!
Bible Truth
"Everything was created by him and for him" (Colossians 1:16c).
"You are worthy, our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. You are worthy because you created all things. They were created and they exist. That is the way you planned it" (Revelation 4:11).
"Then God said, 'Let us make man in our likeness. Let them rule over the fish in the waters and the birds of the air. Let them rule over the livestock and over the whole earth. Let them rule over all of the creatures that move along the ground.' So God created man in his own likeness. He created him in the likeness of God. He created them as male and female" (Genesis 1:26–27).
