Why does God allow birth defects?
Here's the answer:
The Bible doesn’t tell us why God allows birth defects in some people and not others.
Birth defects happen because of sin. The parents' sin didn’t cause the defects. The baby’s sin didn’t cause the defects. Some babies are born with birth defects because of sin in the world. Because of sin, there are birth defects today.
While we don’t know why God allows birth defects, we do know God can be fully trusted. God is good. He never does anything wrong. He is completely perfect. God never wanted people to get sick.
We won’t be able to fully understand God. He is God and we are His creation. Any baby born with a birth defect won’t have one forever. If the person believes in Jesus, when they die, they will be fully healed. Praise God!
