Why are there so many religions?
Here's the answer:
There are so many religions because mankind has made up many false religions in an attempt to be made right with God.
There is only one true faith system—faith in Jesus as taught in the Bible. No other religion leads to Jesus. Other religions do not offer true salvation. Only through believing in Jesus can someone be saved (John 3:16-17). Jesus is the only way to true forgiveness and eternal life (John 14:6).
Many people don’t want to believe in the God of the Bible, so they make up their own idea of a god. They choose to follow a god they invented instead of the true God.
If you want to truly know God, He is found in Jesus.
"The truth about God is plain to them. God has made it plain. Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I’m talking about his eternal power and about the fact that he is God. Those things can be seen in what he has made. So people have no excuse for what they do. They knew God. But they didn’t honor him as God. They didn’t thank him. Their thinking became worthless. Their foolish hearts became dark" (Romans 1:19-21).
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'" (John 14:6).
"Whoever belongs to the Son has life. Whoever doesn’t belong to the Son of God doesn’t have life" (1 John 5:12).
