Why do Christians sometimes fight with each other?
Here's the answer:
It hurts to see Christians fighting, but we have to remember that Christians aren't perfect.
While God wants to see us live a better life in Jesus, sometimes we can fall back into our old ways. So when we fight, we must think about what caused us to fight, and how we can do better next time.
The Bible says we fight and argue because we want our way! This really means we fight because we can be selfish sometimes. But Jesus has called us to put other people first. So when we put other people first, we fight less. When we put ourselves first, we fight more. So Christians fight when they forget that Jesus wants us to have an attitude that puts the other person’s thoughts first.
So Christians sometimes fight—but you can be an example! If you’re in the argument, put the other person first and remember that Jesus wants you to show love in the way you talk. And if you’re not in the argument, be a helper by reminding those Christians how Jesus wants us to talk to each other.
Bible Truth
"Why do you fight and argue among yourselves? Isn’t it because of your sinful longings? They fight inside you" (James 4:1).
"If you want to be first, you must be the very last. You must be the servant of everyone" (Mark 9:35b).
"Don’t let any evil talk come out of your mouths. Say only what will help to build others up and meet their needs. Then what you say will help those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29).
