Can I pray to an angel?

Here's the answer:

No, you cannot pray to an angel.

Angels were created by God to serve Him. We do not serve angels. We serve God. Prayer is a form of worship and the only person we should worship is God (Deuteronomy 6:13). This means we should only pray to God.

Angels do not hear our prayers. Even if they heard our prayers, they would not be able to answer them. Only God answers prayers. He answers them according to His will.

Jesus clearly taught His disciples to pray to the Father (Matthew 6:9). He never taught them to pray to angels.

Jesus and the Holy Spirit are our Mediators. This means only Jesus and the Holy Spirit can intervene on our behalf. Nowhere in Scripture are we told that we must pray to angels. It would not be biblical to pray to angels. Instead, pray to God and He will listen. God loves you very much!

Bible Truth

"I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. After that, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel. He is the one who had been showing me these things. But he said to me, 'Don’t do that! I serve God, just as you do. I am God’s servant, just like the other prophets. And I serve God along with all who obey the words of this book. Worship God!'" (Revelation 22:8-9).

"Jesus said to them, 'When you pray, this is what you should say. "Father, may your name be honored. May your kingdom come"'" (Luke 11:2).

"And I will do anything you ask in my name. Then the Father will receive glory from the Son" (John 14:13).
