How come the devil wants us to be bad?
Here's the answer:
Satan wants people to follow him instead of God.
The devil tempts everyone to do wrong things (Romans 3:23). Satan even tempted Jesus, but He would not fall for his tricks (Matthew 4:1-10). Instead, Jesus told him to go away and used verses from the Bible.
The devil is a liar. The Bible calls him the father of lies (John 8:44). Ever since the Garden of Eden, he has been trying to get people to listen to him instead of God (Genesis 3). But one day God will send him away to be punished forever (Revelation 20:7-10). Soon, God will defeat Satan and keep him from ever bothering Christians again (Romans 16:20).
Bible Truth
"The God who gives peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20).
"...From the beginning, the devil was a murderer. He has never obeyed the truth. There is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his natural language. He does this because he is a liar. He is the father of lies" (John 8:44).
