Should guys take off their hats in church?

Here's the answer:

Taking off your hat can show respect for God.

Wearing your baseball hat in church doesn’t seem like a big deal, does it? It depends on where you live though. In many parts of the world, it’s polite for guys to take off their hats in church. In fact, church isn’t the only place where it is respectful to take off your hat. For example, in some countries you are encouraged to take off your hat during your country’s national anthem. It is a sign of respect or honor. In the same way, in some cultures, you are showing respect and honor for God by taking off your hat while in church.

The Bible doesn’t command guys to take of their hats, but it is smart to know the culture where you live. Even when the Bible doesn’t command certain things, be careful to follow customs that show honor. For example, in some Asian cultures, it’s respectful to take off your shoes before entering a home. So, in order to show respect, we should do that when it is important to the person who lives in the home.

If you are unsure about whether or not you should take off your hat in church, ask your parents or pastor if it is a way to show respect.
