What does God want me to do when I've done something wrong or when I feel guilty?
Here's the answer:
God wants you to confess your sins and He will forgive you.
Everyone makes mistakes (Romans 3:23). When we do something wrong or feel guilty, He wants us to ask Him for forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 says, "But God is faithful and fair. If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins."
Even better, the rest of the verse promises, "He will forgive every wrong thing we have done." Does this mean we should do every wrong thing we want? No! But it does mean God will forgive us every time we make a mistake and ask Him to forgive us.
In addition, when God forgives us, we should thank Him for it. Psalm 130:4 teaches, "But you forgive. So we can serve you with respect." We can thank God and serve Him because He loves and forgives.
