Should Christians go to doctors?
Here's the answer:
It is okay for Christians to seek medical attention and go to doctors.
Some people believe that going to the doctor is wrong. They consider going to the doctor as a lack of trust in God. This is a false belief because God has given us doctors. Luke was a doctor in the New Testament, and no one condemns him for being a doctor (Colossians 4:14). Doctors can help us and make us feel better when we are sick or hurt.
While the Bible does talk about some bad doctors, it does not mean all doctors are bad. Many doctors had treated the woman who was bleeding, yet she was still sick (Mark 5:25-30). The woman had spent all her money on getting help from the doctors, yet none of them could cure her. She was finally healed by Jesus and was freed from her suffering.
Doctors are put into place to help us. There is nothing wrong or sinful about going to see the doctor. God wants you to take care of your body, and part of this is going to the doctor.
Bible Truth
"Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, sends greetings. So does Demas" (Colossians 4:14). "Jesus heard this. So he said, 'Those who are healthy don’t need a doctor. Sick people do'" (Matthew 9:12).
