What does God want from me?

Here's the answer:

God wants you!

God wants you to know Him and He wants you to have a relationship with Him. The only way for you to have a relationship with God is by believing in Jesus—accepting Jesus gift of salvation because He died for your sins and rose again. By believing in Jesus, you are forgiven of the bad things you have done and you are given eternal life (John 3:16-17).

God also wants you to become more and more like Jesus (Romans 8:29). He wants you to be loving, kind, and forgiving to others. He doesn’t want us to become like the world. He will help us become more like Jesus through discipline and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Thirdly, God wants you to love Him with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). By loving Him, it will show in our actions. Our thoughts, attitudes, and behavior will better reflect Him. Jesus tells us we should love God above everyone else. He also wants us to love others (Matthew 22:37-39).

Bible Truth

"The Lord is not slow to keep his promise. He is not slow in the way some people understand it. Instead, he is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, he wants all people to turn away from their sins" (2 Peter 3:9).

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind and with all your strength.' And here is the second one. 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There is no commandment more important than these" (Mark 12:30-31)
