Did Jesus have kids?

Here's the answer:

No, the Bible does not mention Jesus having kids.

Jesus would have been a wonderful dad, because not only did He never sin or get angry for the wrong reasons, but He also loved kids (see Matthew 19:13–14). The Bible doesn’t say that Jesus had kids, though, or that He was even married. If he had kids, the Bible would have mentioned it somewhere.

There are a few reasons why it wouldn’t have worked well for Jesus to have kids. First of all, Jesus was very busy teaching and healing people and spending time with God. He was always telling and showing people how to live the way God wanted them to live. Families need a lot of attention, and so He wouldn’t have had much time for a family. A second reason is that Jesus didn’t have much money or even a home. He traveled around and stayed at other people’s houses, and His only job was teaching people about God (He didn’t make any money for that!). Another reason was probably that Jesus planned to die on the cross for our sins, then rise again and go back to heaven. If He’d had a family, He would have had to leave them behind.

Jesus didn’t have any kids, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t know how to love kids! He healed many of them when He was on Earth (see the story of Jairus’s daughter in Mark 5:21–43 or the story of the royal official’s son in John 4:43–54). He takes care of and listens to children even now that He’s in heaven. And did you know that everyone who believes in Jesus is His adopted son or daughter?

"He came to set free those who were under the authority of the law. He wanted us to be adopted as children with all the rights children have" (Galatians 4:5).

"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them'" (Matthew 19:14).
